In my End of the year review for last year, I indicated that I might be leaving Twitter/X for Bluesky. That time is approaching. I am sure that I do not have to explain my reasoning, However, for those unsure suffice it to say that I consider the behaviour and actions of the site owner beyond abhorrent. I shall be sorry to leave as I have many wonderful followers and have been following many helpful people and organisations and have learned a lot from them. I shall probably continue to dip in now and then. I have found that around 30% of those that I follow have moved either partially or entirely to Bluesky and I hope that many more will follow as Twitter/X and its owner becomes more toxic. I am also aware that it is quite possible by sticking, e.g. to Book Twitter to avoid the toxic behaviour of the owner and his friends though, of course, if you follow the news in any form, you cannot avoid the toxicity. I hope some of you will join me on Bluesky. Unless he is locked up (we can but hope), sets off for Mars (we can but hope), has a change of heart (not a hope) or sells it (anyone got $44 billion to spare?) I think it highly unlikely that I will change my mind.
My time line: I have just started my annual reading marathon (Greece this year). I will post on both sites for this but then move fully to Bluesky but leave my Twitter account alive.
